Historical Event on 9/20/1856
Narayan Guru was born in Chempazhanthi village of Kerala. Sri Narayan Guru was a social reformer, led reform movement in Kerala, rejected casteism, and promoted new values of spiritual freedom and social equality. He also stressed the need for the spiritual and social uplift of the downtrodden by their own efforts through the establishment of temples and educational institutions. In the process, he denounced the superstitions that clouded the fundamental Hindu cultural convention of caste.

9/10/1920	Calyampudi Radhakrishna Rao was born at Hadagali in Karnataka. In 1945 he put forward the ""theory of estimation"" in statistics. His formulae and therorems, for instance the ""Cramer-Rao inequality"", ""The Fisher-Rao theorem"" and ""Rao-Black Wellistaion"" are now part of any standard textbook of statistics. For his significant contributions, Rao received the S. S. Bhatnagar Award, the Meghnad Saha Medal and the Guy medal.
9/10/1920	Sultan Mehmud of Ghazni began his first real expedition to India by defeating the Hindu King Jaipal. He won Afghanisthan and Punjab in Peshawar battle. This was the first major Muslim conquest in India.
10/27/1920	Kocheril Raman Narayanan was born in the village of Uzhavoor in Kottayam district, Kerala.
3/5/1868	Harishchandra Sakharam Bhatwadekar alias Save Dada, who filmed the felicitation function of Wrangler R. P. Paranjapye, was born. This film was titled as ""The Fresh Indian Regular of Cambridge University."" He was the First Short Documentary Film Maker of India.
