Historical Event on 4/1/1985

Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture was established during the 7th Plan period. The Institute started functioning independently since April 1987. The Headquarters of the Institute are located in Chennai with field and farm facilities at Muttukadu and three Research Centres at Kakdwip(West Bengal), Puri(Orissa) and Narakkal (Kerala).

7/11/1882Baba Kanshi Ram, great freedom fighter and social reformer, was born at Dada Siba village, Tehsil Dehra District, Kangra.
4/14/1962Sir Mokshagundam Vivesvaraya, father of modern engineering, passed away at the age of 102. He was receipent of ""Bharat Ratna"" Award.
11/20/1981Bhaskara-II, India's second experimental remote sensing satellite, was launched by Russian launch vehicle Intercosmos. This provided experience in building and operating a remote sensing satellite system on an end-to-end basis.
9/4/1665Raja Jai Singh treaty of Purandar was signed between the Mughals and Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
