Historical Event on 11/1/1948
An Indian brigade group supported by the 7th Cavalry (Stuart tanks) broke through the Great Himalayan Range at Zojila to drive out the invaders from Ladakh district. At approximately 3,500 metres, this was the highest point in the history of warfare that tanks had operated.

7/21/1977	Neelam Sanjiva Reddi was elected as the President of India.
6/30/1755	Jayappa Shinde who was the son of Ronoji Shinde was murdered.
12/19/1994	K. A. P. Vishwanathan, famous Tamil author, passed away.
