Topic : Which Mandir is best - Kent or Maple Valley?
andy o. 8/31/2012 Member of SeattleIndian.com City: Des Moines	Hi everyone,I have not been to temple in awhile and I would like to explore local options. It seems there are two mandirs in my area - http://www.sdmandirwa.org/#!about - in Kent, and http://www.sdtccwa.org/festivals.php - in Maple Valley. I just recently moved to Des Moines area, so I have not had the chance to visit either mandir. I was hoping for some insight as to which might differentiate one mandir from the other.Some challenges I face are that I am not indian. This is important because a lot of the rituals and customs that follow from India are completely unfamiliar to me. I am appreciative for the opportunity to learn though. Also, I can be shy/reserved until i know people. Sometimes that can give the impression that I dont want to talk to people which is very untrue. Typically - the deity that I feel closest to would be Kali - neither mandir seems to offer direct worship of Kali but they do offer worship of Durga. I have been to the Sri Ganesha temple when I lived in Nashville a few years ago - a *beautiful* temple. I have also attended iskcon services both, in Nashville and in Sammamish - but Sammamish is quite far from where I live right now.Thank you for any insight you can offer!~andy Post Response Add To Favorite Total Replies: 0
