2 more deaths in Gurugram due to COVID-19

Gurugram, June 9 (IANS) Two more patients died due to coronavirus in Gurugram on Tuesday, a day after the city registered five deaths due to the deadly virus.

Dr J.S. Punia, Gurugram Civil Surgeon, confirmed the deaths. He said that the patients succumbed to illness in different private hospitals. With this, 11 patients have lost their lives to the virus in Gurugram.

Apart from the deaths, health officials also detected 164 fresh corona positive cases on Tuesday.

Gurugram currently has 2,329 cases which is almost 45 per cent of the total cases in the state of Haryana. The total number of cases in Haryana is 5,209 including 355 cases that emerged in the state on Tuesday.

The majority of cases appeared in containment zones. The situation in containment zones is extremely serious with indications of community spread. Sources have said that a majority of residential societies and condominiums have positive cases.
