Mumbai, July 19 (IANS) Chinese director Jia Zhangke's film "Ash Is Purest White" will release in India on August 2. The film is a love story set in contemporary China, and was selected for the 2018 edition of the Cannes Film Festival.

"Ash Is Purest White" features Zhao Tao and Liao Fan, and will be released in India by actor Sanjay Suri's production house Kahwa Entertainment and Srinivasan Narayan's In2infotainment company.

Aiming to bring international cinematic culture in India, Sanjay said: "I personally enjoy watching films like these, which leave you thinking about them. Such films are pure art. Our vision is to bring the culture of watching international cinema to India and celebrating it. Such films have a distinct audience and I wish this audience keeps expanding in the coming years. We are planning to release more international films in future."--IANS
