You need to discuss this with the Hospital.Explain them about what insurance you have and what happened and ask them the best way to pay for this. I would think you paying $800 should be fine and will end this whole expensive episode
I would try and negotiate with Evergreem hospital/Insurance company to reduce the amount as much as possible. May be get into a payment plan/installments etc. Remember they would rather have the money through monthly payment than not at all. Also Try to not get this to collections as it will screw yoru credit history for a long long time to come. To avoid paying a $7K amt you could be denied a $500K mortgage or would get sub-prime rates which would eventually be much higher that $7K you would have saved..
i do not think you can do much about this...basically this your insurence company problem..i would try to work with that. once it goes to collection..it will not be good for your credit...antother option...long shot though is go to some local charity organization for help. good luck.
