Mix 1 tablespoon of dishwashing liquid, 2 cups of cool water, and 1 tablespoon of either white distilled vinegar or ammonia. Soak a cloth into the solution and blot the stain. Leave the solution on the stain for about 5 minutes. With a clean, damp cloth, blot the carpet stain.
