Recently I had posted one article called 'Don't lose your hope' in an India- based website called GoIIT. GoIIT is a website that explains about how to prepare for Indian Institute of Technology entrance examinations, and helps get into IIT. IITs are among the premier institutes in India for all technological studies. I realized that my article on keeping the hope alive all the time got many positive responses. Some of my friends even suggested me to write about how to study. I took the suggestion positively. And here I am, with my thoughts.
I am an engineer with an MBA. But during my student life, I was literally mugging up -- I was literally just memorizing and writing. But I realized that it was a mistake. When we study, we have to be with it, without any interference. Studying should have 100% involvement - deep, deep involvement in the study is the prime qualification for a person to study. I call the study with Being level.
The study with being level is nothing but just total involvement. There are two things that will happen when you are totally involved. The first thing is you like what you do. The second thing is the third 1Chakra called Agna Chakra, the energy centre situated in between your eyebrows, will get awakened. You establish a system where it records continuously whatever you are studying in high energy mode, or when you are deeply involved in the study.
So I would recommend all the students to really involve themselves while studying. Here, the main thing for a person is to involve and study. The second thing is when we prepare for an examination or anything else in life; we can try to relate it with the things we see in our lives. This is a very good technique for a person to remember easily whatever he studies.
For example, imagine that you are studying about a car. Car has got an engine, tires, battery etc. But the part that appeals to you is battery - you are acquainted with it in your daily life. So you can start visualizing it - by asking yourselves and finding out the location of the battery, what does it look like etc. Then you start relating it to the other parts, and understanding them. This method is more useful than mere reading, to memorize the subject of study. If we can visualize the image related to particular study or understand the science behind it, it is easy to remember that.
It a nutshell, whenever there is no interference for the mind, the real study happens. So I would recommend everybody to calm down mentally before they start studying.
So the steps are -
1) Calm down
2) Deep involvement
3) Study with some related remembrance.
These will help remember what you study. There are many such techniques discovered by the Indian Spiritual Masters/teachers, who had amazing, incomparable memory. I will post about some of them one by one. But remember - if you want to be the master of the subject you want to study, fall in love with it, and believe me, it will love you in return! Study as if you are in love with the subject; and it will never fail you.
