There is a 6 year old little girl with cancer named Siona Shah who really needs a bone marrow transplant. She has ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia), and recently went through a round of chemo but had a relapse. Her parents and friends are holding a bone marrow drive this weekend at the Community Center at Mercer View, which is at 8236 SE 24th St on Mercer Island. It will be held Sunday May 2nd from 12-5pm. They are primarily looking for people of East Indian descent (ages 18-60) as similar ethnic backgrounds have the highest probability of being a match. All it takes to get on the bone marrow registry is a quick q-tip swab in your mouth. If they miss the drive on Sunday, they can visit www.marrow.org/join to get a testing kit mailed to your home, although results will take longer and time is of the essence.Sionas website is www.sionashah.com and details about the drive can be found here: http://sionashah.com/siona/siona_drive2010.pdfThanks for taking the time to read this.
