Hello groupMy wife & I are looking to move to Seattle from Bay area. I will be working downtown around Union and 1st ave. I was wondering if someone could help me with the following;- I would like rent within 30 minutes commute (bus or train) of this location preferably in an area where there are Indians.- I am looking to rent a 2 bed/2 bath apt and my budget is $2k. Is my budget reasonable? Will I get good rental condo in this budget?- Is it possible to find condos that go by monthly lease instead of longer term lease.- Which are the Indian areas in and around Seattle.Thanks for your help.rsk
Hello Ram,There is no train here.You have to take bus to Seattle.There is park and ride everywhere.So you dont have to worry.In Bellevue area lots of Indians are there,mexicans too just like Fremont and Sunnyvale.If you are looking for mixed ethnicity I suggest Issaquah,Sammamish and Redmond(rent is little high compared to other cities).Bothell is one of the area where Indians started to migrate now.Now for your question given a chance :)(I wish),we would move to CA.Weather is the only reason we want to move.Its always gloomy here.So called summer will come for mostly 2 months.If you have kids you will not get to play outside as you do in CA.I am not threatening you.It depends.It is a very beautiful place.So greeny everywhere.Kinda like it.Hope you like this place.Good luck.
Hi Shri ramWe are leaving to India next month for good.We have a 2 BR/2BT for subleasing which runs till oct 31st.W e are paying 1165. we live in Bellevue(opp to crossroads mall).we have bus facility to seattle just outside our apts to seattle.we live in centralpark east apts .Its has more of Indians here and very good location close to everythinglet me know if you are interested My num is 425 773 3727Asha

Are there trains going from Bellevue, Redmond, Sammamish or Issaquah to downtown Seattle.Saritha... are you happy with your move from bay area or given a chance, would you move back to bay area. I dont want to live in a completely indian dominated community like Sunnyvale in bay area. I like a good mix of ethnicity. which neighbourhood would fit this. How many months in a year does it rain. is the rain only in winter and spring. Thanks again for your help.
Hello Ram, Welcome to Seattle. We live in Redmond city. There are lots of Indians in this area.40 minutes commute to Seattle downtown area. My husband also works in Seattle downtown. He goes by bus. There are frequent (every 10 min's) bus service to Seattle and also lot of Van/Car pools available. You can also consider Bellevue area where lots of Indians live. Indian groceries are also there. You can get very good apartments for your budget (actually your budget is in high end). We also moved from Bay area (Fremont) 4years back. You would get a different life style in WA. Be prepared for rain.:)Feel free to ask if you need any help.
