Anchor babies targeted by new legislative group

What anchor babies are "Anchor babies" is a name given to people that are born in the United States to parents who are illegal immigrants. The kids don't have legal parents although they are legal within the United States as citizens themselves. The 14th Amendment allows this. Section 1 says:
"All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside."
The Civil Rights Act of 1866 also grants United States Citizenship "to all persons born within the United States not subject to any foreign power."
There is State Legislators for Legal Immigration too State Legislators for Legal Immigration is a coalition that was originally began by Pennsylvania State Representative Daryl D. Metcalf. The group works on " eliminating all economic attractions and incentives (including, but not limited to: public benefits, welfare, education and employment opportunities) for illegal aliens, also as securing our borders against unlawful invasion." This group has supported Arizonas controversial immigration reform and has employed constitutional and legal scholars to provide support to states trying to reform immigration.
The anchor baby model legislation There is model legislation that the SLLI released just lately. This would make it so that any child born in the United States with parents are not citizens might not have citizenship. The SLLI says the policy of citizenship-by-birth encourages illegal immigration and makes it easier to circumvent immigration procedures. No state legislature has yet to make an effort to pass the model legislation, though lawmakers from 40 states have signed on to the SLLI. Whichever state passes it first could have a hard time probably considering it is going to be very controversial legislation.
