9/24/1932Preetilata Waddedara, the first armed woman revolutionary, was hanged for ""Chatgaon Ammunitions Plot"".
10/19/1925B. Shankaranand, former central minister, was born.
10/1/1932Indian Milatary Academy became functional with Brigadier LP Collins, DSO, OBE as the Commandant. The first course of 40 GCs had on its rolls Sam Manekshaw, Smith Dun and Mohd Musa, later to be Chiefs of the armies of their respective countries, i.e. India, Burma (now Myanmar) and Pakistan. This training was for a period of two and a half years.
11/1/2000T. R. Prasad was appointed as the Cabinet Secretary of India. He holds this office till date.
8/8/1942'Britishers Quit India', this resolution was announced in public at Bombay Congress Session. This resolution was passed by All Indian National Congress Committee and Gandhiji gave the 'Do or Die' call for Independence struggle.

11/8/1919Madan Theatres Ltd. was founded under a Joint Stock Company at Calcutta. Their maiden venture 'Bilwamangal' was released on November 8, 1919 at the Cornwallis Theatre, Calcutta.
8/8/2000S.Nijalingappa (97), former Karnataka Chief Minister, died at his residence in Chitradurga.
